lifeGLANCE v1.5.0 "Chapters"

Chapters is the first major feature addition to lifeGLANCE. A Chapter is a named span of time ("College years", "Living in Berlin", "The startup era") that groups a curated set of milestones and gives you a focused, zoomable view of that period.

What's new

Chapters

• Chapter ribbons appear on the timeline between the milestones row and the time axis. Overlapping chapters stack vertically, each in its own accent colour (amber, indigo, coral, or purple).
• Drill into any chapter by clicking its ribbon. The timeline zooms to fit the chapter's span, non-member milestones are hidden, and the header transitions into a chapter breadcrumb showing the title, date range, member count, and description. Click the lifeGLANCE logo or press Esc to zoom back out to where you were.
• Create and edit chapters via the + add chapter button or the Shift+N keyboard shortcut. Set a name, date range, colour, description, and choose which milestones belong.
• Cascade visibility each chapter has a default visibility for its members (shown or hidden from the main timeline). Individual milestones can override this with their own setting, or inherit the chapter default. Endpoint milestones (those whose date matches the chapter's start or end) are always shown on the main timeline regardless of any visibility setting, so chapter ribbons always have visible anchors.
• Auto-suggest on milestone creation when you add a milestone, any chapters whose date range overlaps are shown as a checklist. If you're already drilled into a chapter, it's pre-selected.
• Chapter bands in the minimap coloured bars below the minimap axis give a bird's-eye view of all your chapters across the full timeline.
• Chapter tags in search search results now show a colored pill for each chapter the milestone belongs to.

Other improvements

• Multi-select category filter category chips now toggle independently. You can filter to any combination of categories at once; the compact dropdown stays open for multi-selection.
• Drill-in sound effects a subtle audio cue plays on chapter entry and exit, consistent with the existing sound design.

Keyboard shortcuts

All other existing shortcuts are unchanged.

Notes

• No data migration required; existing milestones and settings are unaffected.
• All chapter data is stored locally in your browser alongside your milestones. Nothing leaves your device.
