GLANCElauncher
- dayGLANCE now officially supports GLANCElauncher 1.0.0, a home screen launcher built around your day: your dayGLANCE tasks and routines and your lastGLANCE chores and people, right where you'll see them when you unlock your phone. It needs Android 12 or later. Get it from GitHub now; it is in review on Google Play.
- In the GitHub APK, Settings shows a one-time GLANCElauncher card after a few days of use, and Settings → Integrations has a permanent entry with the link. The Google Play version will show them in an update once the launcher is approved on Play.
- The launcher's month grid now shows device-calendar events and recurring tasks for every day of the month, not just this week.
Tasks that cross midnight
- A task that runs past midnight now shows its after-midnight part on the next day in every timeline (MULTI, DAY, WEEK, JOBO and the phone), marked "from ".
- Times read as real clock times: a task from 23:00 for two hours shows "23:00–01:00⁺¹", not "23:00–25:00".
- The GLANCE agenda, the tray, Stream Deck and the widgets know that last night's task is still running after midnight.
- A task is overdue from its real end, the next morning, not at midnight.
- Moving or resizing a device-calendar event so that it ends after midnight now saves instead of snapping back.
Frame sets
- Group frames into sets that are active for a range of dates, such as a term-time week and a holiday week. The Frames list shows frames that always apply under "Always", then one section per set. Each set says whether it is on today, can be switched on or off for today, and has planned dates. Frames in different sets may overlap.
Task editor
- A Tags row under the title: tap a tag to add it to the title or take it out, or type to find one or add a new one.
- The project picker groups projects by area and goal, with folding sections, and the last project you used is pinned at the top.
- Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac) saves the task, or a JOBO Do entry, from any field, notes included.
Timeline
- Resize a task from its top edge to change its start. Guide lines show the start and end while you drag either edge.
- Dragging a task shows the whole block where it will land, with its start and end times.
Calendar filter
- The tag filter is now the calendar filter, and it can hide projects as well as tags. Hidden projects are per device, and the filter button shows how many tasks it is leaving out of the days on screen.
- The filter only changes what the calendar shows. Free time in frames, scheduling, AI suggestions, focus mode and the Day Dial now count every task, so a hidden task's time is no longer treated as free.
Obsidian
- dayGLANCE Bridge 1.1.0, coming to Obsidian's community plugins right after this release, adds "Add to dayGLANCE": turn a selection, or the current line, into an Inbox task. On mobile, it's in the command palette and the toolbar. It sends only once an app on dayGLANCE 5.12 or later can receive it, and says so while it waits.
- On devices without the vault folder (such as a phone), linked goal and project descriptions and task notes now come from the plugin over GLANCEvault.
- Removing a note's scope tag now removes its tasks from dayGLANCE, after a two-minute hold.
MCP
- Tasks carry their plan history (the original plan and how many times they slipped), so an assistant can tell what keeps getting put off.
- New
dayglance_list_mcp_writestool: what MCP clients changed since dayGLANCE started. get_dayincludes the after-midnight part of the previous night's tasks, markedcontinues_from.
Other fixes
- Android: the keyboard no longer covers the task editor on phones that don't report its height, such as some Huawei/HarmonyOS phones and Android 10 and earlier.
- Timeline: a frame ending at midnight is no longer drawn past the bottom of a zoomed timeline.
- Plan history: opening the panel for an Inbox task no longer crashes; it says the task is in the Inbox.
Updating several devices? Devices still on 5.11 don't know about frame sets and will show every frame as always on until they update.
