In your language
dayGLANCE has been translated for a while, but everything outside the app window was still English: home screen widgets, notifications, Siri and system shortcuts, even the notification channel names in Android settings. This release finishes the job.
Android
- Widgets, notification actions, the Up Next persistent notification, the widget configuration dialogs, and the notification channel names shown in system settings are now translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
- Agenda section headers and badges, empty states, elapsed and countdown labels, and the goal and project cards are all localized, including plurals.
- The GLANCEahead widget's day label now follows your language instead of always rendering en-US weekday names.
iOS
- The widget gallery names and descriptions, Control Center controls, intent titles, empty states, and the Snooze 15m and Mark Complete notification buttons now appear in German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese (both European and Brazilian).
Everywhere
- Reminder notification text is localized in all seven app languages: the countdown messages, "Starting now", "Ending now", the all-day reminder, the weekly review nudge, and the hyperGLANCE session bodies.
- Switching languages now rewrites already scheduled reminders, so a pending notification never fires in your previous language.
Siri and Shortcuts on iOS
dayGLANCE now appears in the Shortcuts app and answers Siri, with three actions:
- Add inbox task: "Add a task in dayGLANCE"
- Add scheduled task: "Add a scheduled task in dayGLANCE"
- Start focus: "Start focus in dayGLANCE"
They also feed Spotlight and Siri suggestions, so the actions surface without your having to go looking for them. Voice capture stays a Quick Action and a Control Center control, where it belongs.
Obsidian: launch after writes
A new setting lets dayGLANCE open Obsidian after it writes to your vault, so Obsidian Sync can push the change to your other devices instead of waiting for you to open Obsidian yourself.
On desktop, a burst of edits produces a single launch, opening the last file written. On macOS it happens in the background and does not steal focus.
On Android the wake waits until you leave dayGLANCE, so Obsidian never takes over the screen mid-edit:
- Leaving with Back or the back gesture opens Obsidian directly.
- Leaving with Home or Recents posts a quiet notification, "Changes written to your vault", that you tap to open Obsidian instead. Android does not let an app launch itself over the Home screen, so the notification is the way through.
- Ignoring that notification costs nothing. The pending wake survives until you next leave with Back, repeated exits update the one notification rather than stacking new ones, and it clears itself after 15 minutes or as soon as you return to the app.
The setting is per device, so turning it on for your Mac never turns it on for your PC. On by default on macOS, off by default on Windows, Linux, and Android. It appears in Settings only on desktop and Android, where a launch mechanism exists.
Fixes
- Android: the Mark Complete button on reminder notifications now works. Tapping it did nothing at all; the app never came forward, so the completion was never applied.
- iOS Control Center controls now work. The Scheduled Task, Inbox Task, and Voice Task controls did nothing at all when tapped: the app never came to the foreground, so the action they had queued was never picked up.
- iOS Quick Actions now work on a cold launch. Long-pressing the app icon and tapping a shortcut only opened the app before, unless it happened to still be running in the background. Since iOS reclaims backgrounded apps within hours, that was very nearly every real tap.
- iOS no longer shows a blank app after the web view's content process is terminated in the background. It reloads and picks up your pending action.
- Day Dial: an hour label now fades while a sunrise or sunset mark parks on it. For a few weeks twice a year the glyph landed on top of the text and rendered a 6:09 AM sunrise as an unreadable overlap.
