Reset App Data
A way to clear everything and start from empty, in Settings under Backups.
- Erases all tasks, notes, habits, goals, projects and settings on this device
- On Apple devices you can also delete the copy in iCloud, so nothing restores it here or on a reinstall
- Exporting a backup first sits right next to it
- Resetting one device does not clear the others. Each keeps its own copy, so reset them one at a time: quit dayGLANCE everywhere, then open a single device, reset it, and quit again before moving to the next
iCloud asks before restoring
Reinstalling the iOS app used to bring everything back with no prompt. dayglance-sync.json lives in the iCloud container, outside the app sandbox, so deleting the app never removed it, and reinstalling re-enables the app's iCloud toggle. It now asks.
- Data found in iCloud offers Restore from iCloud or Start fresh on this device
- Starting fresh turns iCloud sync off for that device only. The iCloud copy and your other devices are left alone
- A new iCloud sync switch in Settings > Cloud Sync makes the choice reversible. On macOS it is the only way to turn iCloud sync off, since the app never appears in the system iCloud settings
iCloud diagnostics
Settings > Cloud Sync > iCloud diagnostics reports what this device actually sees: whether the container is reachable, whether the sync file is there, its size and age, how many tasks it holds, whether sync is on for this device, and which transports are configured. Read only, nothing is written or deleted, and there is a copy button for pasting into a bug report.
GLANCE buttons collapse
One handle at the bottom of the column folds the GLANCE actions away and back, on phone, tablet and desktop alike. It covers every button in the column, including the weekly review, daily stats ring and recycle bin on desktop. The choice persists across reloads and is per device, so collapsing on a phone does not empty the corner of a desktop. Default is expanded.
Tablets
- GRID now gets the phone's summary strip rather than the desktop one: collapsible to a single pill, and stacked rather than scrolling sideways inside a vertically scrolling timeline
- LIST now shows the summary strip. It previously vanished when the toggle was flipped
Dynamic Island (iOS)
The countdown ring now shows what kind of block is running, not just how much is left. The ring is tinted indigo for Effort and green for Restore, with the bolt or leaf rendered inside it.
Improvements
- Escape dismisses the Day window popover, matching the inbox filter and deadline picker. With the clock picker open, Escape closes the picker and leaves the menu up
- macOS hides the in-timeline summary strip on days the title bar is already showing the same numbers. It stays when a running task takes the title bar over, and on an empty day with no declared window, where the strip carries the only way in
Fixes
- Folder backup now captures the inbox filter bar. Priority, tag and project filters plus the three hide toggles were all missed, so a restore came back with them reset. Four dismissal flags had the same problem and are covered by the same sweep
- Multi-user no longer says "requires cloud sync" on a device syncing over iCloud, which was true of WebDAV and confusing to anyone who was plainly syncing. It now explains that iCloud is tied to one Apple ID and cannot give two people a shared list
- The Sync users button no longer appears under a locked multi-user toggle on iCloud-only devices, which showed both halves of a contradiction on one screen
Under the hood
- Home screen widgets and the Live Activity only update when the snapshot's contents actually changed. An idle device was pushing an identical snapshot around a hundred times, each one a blocking bridge call and a full timeline reload
- A dropped widget snapshot is now logged with the reason instead of failing silently
- The iCloud reseeding guard reads a record iCloud actually writes. It previously checked a WebDAV key, so on an iCloud-only device it could never fire, and a temporarily evicted file was republished over
- Patched js-yaml, nanoid, undici and fast-uri advisories via dependency overrides
