v2.0.0 — Goals & Projects

Goals & Projects

The biggest addition to dayGLANCE since launch. You can now organize your work into a three-level hierarchy: Goals → Projects → Tasks. Goals are long-term objectives with an optional target date and colour. Projects live under a goal (or standalone) and group related tasks together. Any task can be assigned to a project from the new/edit task modal.

Desktop dashboard

  • New Goals & Projects dashboard, accessible from the bottom-left of the GLANCE panel
  • Goal cards show a progress bar, days remaining, and a ⚠ caution indicator when a project is stalled or the goal is overdue
  • Completed goals render dimmed with a "Completed" label in place of the progress bar
  • Projects cards (described further below) show scheduled and unscheduled tasks and progress toward completion
  • Standalone projects (not tied to a goal) appear in their own section, split between active and completed
  • Completed projects shown in a compact two-line style
  • Archived goals and projects are collapsible at the bottom of the dashboard

Mobile Goals tab

  • Swipeable carousel with one page per goal plus a standalone projects page
  • Also can be navigated via dot indicators and prev/next arrows

Project cards

  • Task list with checkboxes, drag-to-reorder, and click-to-edit
  • Progress bar (tasks done / total)
  • Stalled indicator when no tasks have been completed recently

Project Focus

  • Launch Focus Mode filtered to that project's tasks
  • Surfaced when there are incomplete tasks scheduled for today

Project chips

  • Scheduled timeline tasks assigned to a project show a project chip
  • Tapping a project chip filters the timeline view to only show tasks belonging to that project
  • Chips always show regardless of block height and take priority over time labels when space is tight

Android widget

  • Project chip shown as a styled pill on task rows

Weekly Review

  • AI summary now includes goals and projects context

Other changes

Frames moved to Settings (mobile)

  • On mobile, Frame management has moved from the main tab bar into Settings, freeing up a tab slot for Goals & Projects

Task modals

  • Project dropdown in new/edit task modals — assign or change a task's project inline
  • Unscheduled toggle — mark a task as unscheduled directly from the modal
  • Unscheduled tasks assigned to a project are excluded from the Inbox count

Keyboard shortcuts

  • G opens the Goals dashboard (and enables the feature on first use)
  • H and R now auto-enable their respective features on first use
