Added

• make pull - Pulls the latest images for the selected services without the git sync, package upgrade, .env update and wizard of make update; run make restart afterwards to recreate the containers. Locally built services (n8n, its runners, OpenClaw) are skipped; make update rebuilds them.

Fixed

• Installer - make update aborted on a transient registry timeout during the image pull, after the git sync, the package upgrade and the .env rewrite but before any container was recreated, leaving the install half-updated. A failed pooled pull is now retried one service at a time (3 attempts with backoff; finished layers are cached). If a service still cannot be pulled but its configured image is present locally, the update continues on that image and lists the service at the end with make pull && make restart; if the image is not present at all, the update stops before restarting anything. The local n8n/OpenClaw images are now built (with the same retries) before the stack is stopped, so a registry failure there also stops the update with the old stack running. Supabase and Dify still update their repositories and pull changed images during the restart, without retries (issue #140).

Upgrade

Run make update. The run that installs 1.17.0 still uses the previous update.sh, but the pull, build and restart run in the new apply_update.sh, so the retries already apply to this update.

If a previous make update failed while pulling images (as described in #140), just run make update again. Layers that finished downloading are cached.

If the update ends with "These services may still run their previous image", the rest of the stack is updated and those services keep their previous image. Finish them later with make pull && make restart.

If it stops with "Update stopped before restarting the stack", the old stack is still running. Run make pull until it succeeds, then make update. If the pull error says manifest unknown or not found, check that service's image tag or *_VERSION value in .env.

make pull does not update n8n, its runners or OpenClaw. Those images are built locally, and only make update rebuilds them.
