PS5 UltraPack 2.2.8

Highlights

  • New app icon. PS5 UltraPack now has its own icon on macOS and Windows: a package pressed from both sides. It shows in the Dock, the taskbar, Explorer and on every window, with a simpler mark at the small sizes so it stays clear.
  • Safe file handling. I went through every part of the app that moves, copies or deletes files. Two files that would end up with the same name, also names that differ only in letter case, now both arrive, the second with "(2)". Copies never reuse a name a file of yours could carry, and a folder copy stops instead of leaving out a subfolder it cannot read.
  • Patch rollback. When a job applies a patch to your own game folder and then fails, is cancelled or the app crashes, the patch comes back out and your folder is as it was.
  • Honest job results. A game that would be incomplete, an executable that is cut short, a package that fails its checks or extras that did not reach the output now fail the job or keep the source, instead of reporting success.

Also new

  • Organize and PS4 sorting tell you when items stay in the source, and then leave the source alone.
  • The temp cleanup only removes the app's own working folders, never a folder of yours whose name looks similar.
  • If your settings file is locked by another program at start, the app no longer writes defaults over it.
  • The space check adds up everything that lands on one drive.
  • "Look inside > Extract" never overwrites a file in the folder you pick.

Fixed

  • After-job Move, PS4 sorting and Organize could replace one item with another of the same name from the same run.
  • Packing your own folder deleted OS clutter inside it, a Recycle Bin or Trash folder included.
  • A ZIP archive with two names that differ only in letter case lost one of them on macOS and Windows.

Install

Unzip, then once on a Mac it was not built on:
