PS5 UltraPack 2.2.2

Highlights

  • A time left you can trust. The estimate now comes from what each step really takes. The running step counts with its own time left (the compressor's, the unpack's), and the steps still to come are timed at the speed this Mac showed for them before. It used to follow fixed shares of a job and could say "about 11 min left" while the compression alone needed 38 minutes. Left shows the job's time; the foot of the queue shows the whole run's.
  • Game names before the unpack. A job from an archive whose game cannot be read until it is unpacked (an image or a solid 7z or RAR inside) is named after the title id in its name, from the public PlayStation title lists. The app downloads the lists when it first needs them and again once a week, and Settings › General › Game names turns that off. The unpacked game's own name still names the output.
  • Look inside works like Organize. It is a view of the main window now: the image's path with Choose and Open, the list, Extract all and Extract selected. There is no Close button; any entry in the sidebar leaves it, and an extraction keeps running when you do.
  • The sidebar always works. With Add job open, a click in the sidebar, a View menu entry or its shortcut takes you there and closes the page.
  • Details that match the job you picked. The progress block shows only while the selected job runs. A waiting job's details show where it will run: the drive it unpacks on, the drive that builds the image (an extra temp drive such as a second SSD included) and what each drive needs and has free. When the next job starts, the list and the details follow it only if you were watching the running one.

Also new

  • The queue shows what kind of archive a job starts from: .rar, .7z or .zip instead of "Archive".
  • While an archive is unpacked, Speed, Elapsed and Left are filled in.
  • A PS4 or Organize job from an archive moves its queue bar with the unpack instead of stopping at a quarter, and it asks for free space only on the output drive, where it unpacks.
  • A PS4 game package with its update merged in takes the update's version (v01.71 instead of v01.00) when its name, its folder or the archive it came in says so.
  • Empty work folders (_ffpfsc_temp, _ffpfsc_extract) no longer stay behind on the drives the app used.

Fixes

  • The app could quit on the spot when a folder or file chooser opened. Choosers and messages now open as windows of their own.
  • After such a crash, the running job no longer keeps going without the app; a job ends together with it.

Install

Unzip, then once on a Mac it was not built on:
