Introducing Soniox — the best real-time speech translation we've ever shipped — Sokuji now runs on Soniox, a state-of-the-art speech AI that sets a new bar for translation quality. It transcribes and translates 60+ languages with exceptional accuracy — holding up across accents, cross-talk, noisy rooms, and quiet or uneven audio where other engines fall apart — and detects the language you're speaking automatically, even when you switch mid-sentence. The result is fast, natural, faithful translation in real time, delivered as a synthesized voice or clean live captions. In Both mode, a single Soniox session translates both sides of a conversation at once and tells the speakers apart automatically — lower cost and latency than running two. Bring your own Soniox key and go.
Side panels keep their state when you switch — Moving between the Settings and Logs panels no longer rebuilds them from scratch, so your scroll position and in-progress edits are preserved. (Part of an upgrade to React 19.)
🛠 Fixes & polish
- Conversation bubbles now label each line with the language actually detected for it, instead of the configured source/target pair — correct for two-way translation and auto-detect.
- The pinned subtitle bar now stays above PowerPoint slideshows on Windows.
- Your active Settings tab is remembered when you switch side panels.
- Tidied up the order of the AI provider list.
