What's New
Cleaner Settings Interface
- Provider selection unified — both Basic and Advanced modes now use the same expandable card layout with provider icons and descriptions, replacing the old dropdown in Advanced mode
- UI mode toggle removed — the mode is now set during onboarding (Regular → Basic, Experienced → Advanced), reducing header clutter
- Provider card automatically closes after selection and hides the expand button when only one provider is available
Improved Labels & Terminology
- "Simple" → "Quick" — the settings mode label has been renamed across all 30 languages
- "Provider" → "AI Service Provider" — clearer section heading
- "Local (Offline)" → "Local AI (Offline)" — provider name updated
- ASR/TTS expanded — all instances now show full terms: "Speech Recognition (ASR)" and "Speech Synthesis (TTS)" instead of bare acronyms
- Model download prompt rewritten for clarity
Model Status at a Glance
- Model chips now show green when a model is downloaded and warning color when missing, making it immediately clear what needs to be downloaded
- Participant model layout reorganized: label and hint on one row, model chips on the next
New Onboarding Step: Participant Audio
A new step has been added to the setup guide explaining Participant Audio capture:
- In the browser extension: captures audio from the current tab for translating other participants in Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, etc.
- In the desktop app: captures any audio your computer plays — YouTube, Twitch, Netflix, or any other source
- Explains that participant audio is text-only (no speech synthesis) and how it complements the microphone for full two-way translation
Localization
- Added missing translations across all 30 languages: participant model hint, model recommended labels, local models required prompt
- Standardized ASR/TTS terminology across all translation files
