Gateway and HTTPRoute management has moved to the Gateway API plugin. Install it from Plugin management to restore dedicated management pages. Existing fine-grained RBAC rules should use gateways.gateway.networking.k8s.io and httproutes.gateway.networking.k8s.io.

Highlights

Added plugin support for extending Kite

Administrators can now install plugins from a catalog or upload .tar.gz packages, update them, and enable, disable, or uninstall them. Plugins can add pages, sidebar menus, resource list columns, detail tabs, custom resource interfaces, themes, and settings. Kubernetes operations continue to use the signed-in user's RBAC permissions. (#728)

Resource Management And UI

Fixed owner links to use the correct resource name and namespace or cluster scope. Built-in owner links remain directly available, and custom owner links no longer require permission to list CRDs. (#731, #733, 76a9b956)
Fixed applying multi-document YAML containing empty or null documents. (#732)
Added custom resource creation and JSON/Merge Patch APIs with operation history support. (#728)
Fixed Pod, Node, and kubectl terminal connections rejected with cannot exec with tty and stderr. Thanks @taosher (#727)

Cluster Management And Deployment

Refreshed the cluster selector after adding or importing clusters. (579dd21b)
Added configurable plugin storage and Helm PVC support. With the default paths, plugins can share SQLite's persistent volume; MySQL and PostgreSQL deployments can use plugins.persistence.enabled for separate storage. Without persistence, uploaded plugins must be uploaded again after Pod recreation. See Plugin Storage. (#728)
Fixed Helm upgrades using older values files without plugin settings. (1a331232)

Documentation

Moved documentation to kitehq.dev and updated Helm installation instructions to use charts.kitehq.dev.
Added plugin development guides covering the SDK, resource extensions, configuration, internationalization, debugging, and publishing. (#728)

Dependencies

Updated frontend dependencies, including React 19.3.0, React Router 7.18.4, React Query 5.103.2, and Vite 8.3.1. (#739)
