Automated release: version and notes generated from pull requests merged since 3.1.8.

Added

  • look.py --guides title,action,4:3 draws broadcast safe-area outlines (93 % action, 90 % title, and the 4:3 centre cut with its own) on the preview PNG, never into a video, alongside --safe PLATFORM (#423).
  • export.py --preset key-fill writes a fill and a key (the alpha as a luma matte) from one alpha source in one run, ProRes 422 HQ with the source's start timecode; it checks both hold the same frames, size, rate and length, checks the key's level against the source's alpha, and reports both SHA-256 hashes; the source's subtitle/data streams are not written and are listed in non_av_streams (#418).
  • Alpha masters in export.py: --preset prores4444|prores4444xq|qtrle|vp9-alpha|hap-alpha keep the source's alpha (a source without one is refused), take --alpha-mode straight|premultiplied, and read the alpha back over every written frame against the source's (alpha verification step); a VP9 source is decoded with libvpx-vp9, and --hw leaves them on the CPU (#417). Image sequences (PNG/EXR) are not included.
  • loudness.py --versions streaming,ebu-r128,broadcast-jp (or LUFS/TP pairs) writes one normalised file per target from one master, each measured after; verified holds only when every version met its own target (#421).
  • export.py --preset dnxhr-lb|dnxhr-sq|dnxhr-hq|dnxhr-hqx|dnxhr-444: DNxHR editing masters (.mov, PCM audio, source size and rate) beside prores. These presets and prores now read the written codec, profile and pixel format back as a codec verification step (#419). DNxHD at its fixed broadcast sizes and bitrates is not included.
  • loop.py --crossfade S fades the clip's last S seconds into its first S, picture and sound, so every repeat meets the next without a jump; --times 1 writes one seamless loop file (#422). Every loop now reports its first seam measured (seam: picture step against the typical frame-to-frame step, sound level step) and checks its length against the request (expected_duration) and its streams.
  • Delivery features: alpha masters, key/fill, DNxHR, loudness versions, seamless loops, safe-area guides (#430)
