Automated release: version and notes generated from pull requests merged since 3.1.3.
Fixed
- A PQ (HDR10) re-encode on FFmpeg before 7.0 wrote the picture without the source's mastering
display and content light level metadata: that FFmpeg does not hand them from the decoded frames
to libx265 or SVT-AV1, so players tone-mapped the result as if it had none (#401).probenow reads
them (video.hdr10_static, from the stream or its first frame) and the HEVC and AV1 HDR lines
pass them asmaster-display/max-cllandmastering-display/content-light. An encoder that has
no such option (prores_ks, libaom) is measured on the written file instead: a PQ output that still
lacks what the source had records anhdr10_metadata_droppedwarning and a notes line. - A plain
notesline was written to stderr as given, so a file name with a line break in it
(batch.py's list of items that did not verify) could still open a new line there; notes are now
escaped as error messages and warnings are (#400). - HDR10 static metadata reaches libx265 and SVT-AV1, and its loss is measured (#412)
- docs: README and the Pages docs layout carry the v3 brand (#407)
