github kajisho5/ffmpeg-skill v2.24.1

Automated release: version and notes generated from pull requests merged since 2.24.0.

Fixed

  • check.py --compare measured frames that do not exist. A shorter output's last frame was repeated against the rest of the reference (a mean SSIM of 0.90 for 52 identical frames, the worst frame timed past the file's end); only the frames both files have are compared now, and the note says how many. An RGB file gave "could not measure" or a value that depended on argument order, and a phone clip stored sideways was compared by its stored size; both are handled.
  • check.py --expect-identity "" (an unset shell variable) skipped the identity row and passed; it is refused as malformed, before any measurement.
  • join.py --copy read stated stream lengths for its A/V end check: Matroska/WebM state none, so a clip whose sound stopped 1.5 s early joined as verified: true, and MPEG-TS states an estimate, so every AAC .ts was refused. Each stream's span is measured from its packets. Identical VP8/VP9 WebM clips are no longer refused over "extradata"; --codec, --quality and --hw with --copy are refused instead of ignored; dropped subtitle/data tracks are reported in dropped_non_av_streams.
  • cut.py --remove with a range outside the file kept a range past the end and removed nothing; it is refused.
  • export.py --preset gif --max-mb ignored the limit and reported verified: true; refused. A --max-mb so large it constrains nothing is refused as input instead of failing in libx264.
  • export.py --repair miscounted damage: "Packet corrupt (… dts = …)" counted as a timestamp warning and "Last message repeated N times" as a decode error, so a remux that made timestamps worse could pass. Every occurrence is printed and classified.
  • render.py --stop-after (before the export) without --work deleted the work directory at exit, and with it the file the result named; the directory is kept.
  • Fix the false claims found reviewing 2.24.0 (compare, copy join, max-mb, repair, stop-after) (#386)
