Maintenant now moves the core to the Apache License 2.0 and can now watch itself from the outside. Point an instance at a heartbeat on another maintenant, and if this one goes down, the other raises the alert.
Apache 2.0
The core moves from AGPL-3.0 to the Apache License 2.0. The code that Personal and Pro keys unlock now lives in internal/commercial/ and frontend/src/commercial/, under the Maintenant Commercial Source License: free to read and contribute to, production use requires a matching licence key. The CLA is gone.
Nothing changes for users: still one binary, the same features per edition, the same key.
Outbound heartbeats
A new Outbound heartbeats page sits in the Administration section of the menu. Each target is a URL this instance calls on a fixed interval, typically the /ping/{uuid} URL of a heartbeat monitor on another maintenant instance.
- Intervals from 30 seconds to 24 hours, per target.
- Each target shows its last send, the HTTP status it got back, or the error.
- Send now fires a ping on demand, handy to check a new target.
- Targets can be disabled without being deleted.
- Targets must use HTTPS and resolve to a public address: private and loopback ranges are refused, so the feature cannot be used to probe your internal network.

Paid channels after a downgrade
When a licence drops to an edition that no longer includes a channel type (email, Telegram, Slack, Teams), those channels now stop sending. A banner at the top of every page lists the suspended channels, and they resume as soon as a matching key is back.
Interface
- Every page now uses the same set of controls: tabs, buttons, form fields, switches, modals and menus look and behave the same everywhere.
- The header keeps the alert bell and the feedback link visible on narrower screens; counters and resource gauges hide first when space runs out.
Fixes
- A fire notification could go out as resolved when the alert recovered while the notification was still queued. Each queued notification now keeps its own copy of the alert.
Docker client
The Docker client moves to the maintained moby/moby modules. The daemon must now expose API 1.40 or later (Docker 19.03+). Older daemons are no longer supported.
Upgrading
One migration (34) runs at startup on SQLite and PostgreSQL. Nothing to configure.
