LineageOS for the Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen), Kiosk Satellite Edition 2026.11.1

This release moves the Show off 2.4 GHz after a boot when its network has 5 GHz and lets echo_service join WPA3-only networks.

Fixes

• The Show stayed on 2.4 GHz after a boot (#35). Android's first scan after a boot can miss a radio, and Android does not look again while connected, so when Android joined the 2.4 GHz radio of a network with 5 GHz, the Show stayed there until the next disconnect. About 30 seconds after the first connection of a boot, EchoService now scans once and reconnects if Android would pick the network's 5 GHz radio.
• Joining a WPA3-only network with echo_service (#36). echo_service wifi connect saved every network with a password as WPA2, so it could not join a network that only offers WPA3, and running it on a network saved as WPA3 turned that network into WPA2. It now scans for the network first and saves it as WPA3 when it only offers WPA3. A network in WPA2/WPA3 transition mode stays on WPA2. The Echo Dot's Wi-Fi cannot do WPA3, so biscuit_service does not change.

Changes

• The guide shows how to turn Bluetooth off and back on. echo_service bt off and bt on were only in the list of device commands. The Bluetooth section now has them and says Kiosk Satellite's Bluetooth proxy for Home Assistant needs Bluetooth on.

Updating

Install it from the Show's Firmware entity in Home Assistant or from Kiosk Satellite's remote admin. EchoService downloads it, checks it and restarts the Show into TWRP, which installs it and starts Android again. Kiosk Satellite and its settings stay. If your Show cannot get online yet, install this release by hand from TWRP with the steps in the Echo Show 5 guide, leaving out twrp wipe data.

Requirements

The Show needs amonet 2 with TWRP 3.7.0_9-0. See Unlocking. If the Show is on amonet 1, see Updating from amonet 1.

Kiosk Satellite needs to be 2026.11.1 or newer. Its echo canceller is built for the raw microphone the image gives it since 2026.10.7, so update Kiosk Satellite on the Show too.
