LineageOS for the Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen), Kiosk Satellite Edition 2026.10.7
This release gives Kiosk Satellite a raw microphone so its echo canceller can settle and adds a privacy timeout.
New
- Privacy timeout (#30).
echo_service privacy onturns privacy on from adb.echo_service privacy timeout <seconds>has EchoService turn privacy back on once the microphones have been on that long, so the microphones stay off unless someone just pressed the button. The privacy chip's driver only lets software turn privacy on, so only the button turns the microphones back on.
Fixes
- Kiosk Satellite gets a raw microphone. The image ran its own echo canceller and pattern removal on the microphones with 20 dB of gain, and Android's noise suppression setting started on, which sends every MIC recording through Amazon's VoIP pipeline. Each of them changes the echo as it adapts, so Kiosk Satellite's own echo canceller, which needs a fixed echo path, never settled. Kiosk Satellite now gets microphone 0 as captured.
persist.vendor.amznaec.enable 1brings the image's echo canceller back.
Changes
- Updating from amonet 1 installs the amonet package from TWRP (#29). Unlocking said to run
fastbrickagain on a Show unlocked with amonet 1, butfastbrickdoes not run on a Show that is already unlocked. It now says to install R0rt1z2's amonet package from TWRP, as the XDA thread does. Whenfastbricksays the bootloader is already unlocked, Unlocking now says to check the TWRP version instead of taking the Show as on amonet 2. The links to the XDA thread now point at R0rt1z2's unlock thread for the Echo Show 5 (2nd gen), which has the amonet package, instead of the LineageOS thread. - Unlocking shows each device in its own collapsible section. Each section opens from the device's name, so the page shows only the steps for your device.
- Updates from your own server (kiosk-satellite#1229). A new guide covers updating an Echo on a network without Internet access from a folder on your own web server, such as a NAS. It has a script that mirrors the newest releases and the adb command that points the Echo at the folder.
- The kernel version names the release. It said
4.9.337-g3e46726afcbe-dirty, with a build number that counted every kernel build on the build machine. It now says4.9.337-kiosksatellite-cronos-2026.10.7, with build#1. - Android's build string names the release. Its build number was
eng.<user>.<date>, as inlineage_cronos-userdebug 11 RQ3A.211001.001 eng.builde.20261030.161037 test-keys. It is now the release, as inlineage_cronos-userdebug 11 RQ3A.211001.001 2026.10.7 test-keys. The build fingerprint has the release too. - Joining a Wi-Fi network with a
!in its name or password. The guide'swifi connectcommand failed withevent not foundfor a name likeFRITZ!Box 7590, since bash and zsh read a!inside double quotes as a history command before the command reaches the Show. The guide now names!and$among the characters to type in a shell on the Show instead.
Updating
Install it from the Show's Firmware entity in Home Assistant or from Kiosk Satellite's remote admin. EchoService downloads it, checks it and restarts the Show into TWRP, which installs it and starts Android again. Kiosk Satellite and its settings stay. If your Show cannot get online yet, install this release by hand from TWRP with the steps in the Echo Show 5 guide, leaving out twrp wipe data.
Requirements
The Show needs amonet 2 with TWRP 3.7.0_9-0. See Unlocking. If the Show is on amonet 1, see Updating from amonet 1.
Kiosk Satellite needs to be 2026.11.1 or newer. Its echo canceller is built for the raw microphone this release gives it, so update Kiosk Satellite on the Show too.

lineageos-echo-kiosk-satellite-2026.10.7-cronos.zip.sig is the release signature. EchoService checks it before it installs an update. Echo Show 5 releases are tagged cronos-. EchoService only installs those.
