LineageOS for the Echo Dot (2nd Gen), Kiosk Satellite Edition 2026.10.8
This release fixes Wi-Fi passwords that have a quote or a backslash in them.
Fixes
- Wi-Fi passwords with a quote or a backslash (#2).
biscuit_service wifi connectadded a backslash before every"and\in the network name and password, which Android 11 then sent to the router as part of the password. The Dot accepted the network but never connected. Names and passwords now go as typed. If Android turns a network down, such as for a password shorter than 8 characters, adb logcat -d -s BiscuitServicenow says so. The Echo Dot guide shows how to enter special characters.
Updating
Install it from the Dot's Firmware entity in Home Assistant or from Kiosk Satellite's remote admin. The Dot installs it into both slots and restarts twice. Kiosk Satellite and its settings stay. If your Dot cannot get online yet, install this release by hand from TWRP with the steps in the Echo Dot guide, leaving out twrp wipe data.
A Dot on the CM14.1 image moves to this one by hand. Moving from the CM14.1 image has the steps.
Requirements
The Dot needs amonet v2.0.0 or v2.0.1 with TWRP 3.7.0_9-0. See Unlocking.
