LineageOS for the Echo Dot (2nd Gen), Kiosk Satellite Edition 2026.10.17
This release keeps the Dot rejoining a Wi-Fi network without Internet access, such as a VLAN that only reaches Home Assistant.
Fixes
- The Echo stopped rejoining a Wi-Fi network without Internet access (kiosk-satellite#1009). When a network the Echo was connected to by hand failed Android's Internet check, Android turned auto-join off for that network for good, while the Echo stayed connected. After the next restart or Wi-Fi drop the Echo never rejoined, which hit Echos on a VLAN that only reaches Home Assistant. Android now keeps auto-join on for such a network. A network a previous release disabled this way is enabled again when the update starts. This fix applies to every Echo.
Updating
Install it from the Dot's Firmware entity in Home Assistant or from Kiosk Satellite's remote admin. BiscuitService installs it into both slots and restarts the Dot twice. Kiosk Satellite and its settings stay. Keep the Dot on its own power adapter, not a USB hub, or TWRP may not start. If your Dot cannot get online yet, install this release by hand from TWRP with the steps in the Echo Dot guide, leaving out twrp wipe data.
If your Dot no longer rejoins its Wi-Fi after a restart, connect it by hand first with adb shell "biscuit_service wifi connect '<ssid>' '<password>'", then install the update. Once it runs this release, it rejoins on its own.
Requirements
The Dot needs amonet v2.0.0 or v2.0.1 with TWRP 3.7.0_9-0. See Unlocking.
