What's new in Kiosk Satellite v0.8.0-beta

New: Sendspin player for Music Assistant

Your kiosk is now a synchronized multi-room speaker. Kiosk Satellite implements Sendspin, the audio protocol native to Music Assistant: enable it, point it at your server, and the tablet registers itself as a player automatically, playing in sample-accurate sync with every other Sendspin speaker in the house. Lossless FLAC, Opus and PCM are supported, with the codec negotiated per device.

The player comes with a full on-screen experience:

  • A floating now-playing card over the dashboard: artwork, track info with marquee scrolling, and a live progress bar. Drag it anywhere (the position is remembered), fling it away to dismiss, and pick between a compact display-only card or a large one with previous, play/pause and next buttons that control the whole playback group.

  • A "Now Playing" full-screen view that can stand in for the screensaver while music plays: album art blurred across the entire screen, a sharp centered cover, and large track text with cross-fades between songs. Touch dismisses it like any screensaver; motion dismissal is a separate opt-in so someone walking past does not interrupt the music display. With nothing playing, your regular screensaver appears as usual.

  • Voice assistant aware: music ducks to a configurable level during voice interactions (10% by default), the stop word can silence playback, and the card steps aside while Voice Satellite is on screen.

Through the Music Assistant integration the player also appears in Home Assistant as a media_player entity with metadata, artwork and volume control. See docs/sendspin.md for the full guide.

New: Browser zoom level

Web Browsing settings gained a zoom slider (1x to 5x in 0.25 steps). It scales the whole page, applies live without a reload, and works on responsive pages like Home Assistant dashboards, which ignore the usual browser initial-scale mechanisms. Useful for wall tablets viewed from a distance.

Fixed: stop word during timer alerts

On Kiosk Satellite the stop word classifier runs natively in the app, and timer alerts never armed it, so saying "stop" to a ringing timer did nothing. Announcements, questions and conversations were unaffected. The fix lives in the Voice Satellite integration: update to Voice Satellite v2026.7.14 to get it.
