What's new in Kiosk Satellite v0.35.0-beta
A Shorter Settings Menu
The settings have been reorganized to cut down on clutter, and every setting kept its stored key, so nothing resets on upgrade.
- Screen & Audio is one page now, combining the old Screen and Audio pages with the microphone and speaker selection and the Microphone settings group that used to live under Voice Satellite. Brightness, volume mixer, audio devices and capture tuning are all in one place.
- Remote Administration moved onto the Device page, together with the admin address and the configuration backup.
- Logs is a single page for all three diagnostic views: the Kiosk Satellite app log, the Android logcat, and the live Web Console, shown one at a time. On the device the whole page fits the viewport and the log box scrolls internally; the Web Console view can also dock the console over the live page.
- WebRTC Cameras is now called Camera Streams, since it has streamed Home Assistant cameras without any Go2RTC setup since the import arrived.
The remote admin mirrors the new layout, its menu subtitles now match the device, and old bookmarks to the removed Screen, Audio, Remote Administration, Web Console and Logs tabs land on the right page automatically.
Postpone the Screensaver from Home Assistant
A new Postpone screensaver button entity is published over MQTT (#129). Pressing it resets the screensaver's idle timer as if someone had touched the screen, and dismisses the screensaver first if one is showing. Any Home Assistant automation can now keep the display awake from an external sensor, such as a door contact or a motion sensor elsewhere in the room, complementing the camera-based Postpone on motion setting. The same action is available to the remote REST API as the postponeScreensaver command.
