The live microphone level bar added in 0.32.0 rides the wake word tester's telemetry feed, and telemetry mode suppresses real detections by design: a tester hit must not start a voice interaction. The meter inherited that rule, so simply having the Voice Satellite settings open with the meter visible, on the device or in the remote admin, made the device deaf, and a remote admin tab left open on that page kept it deaf indefinitely. Telemetry now tells a tester apart from a meter: the meter only reads levels, and wake words keep working while it is on screen.
