Motion Dismiss Sees in the Dark
Dismiss on motion only really worked in a lit room: the detector compared camera frames against one fixed change threshold that dim scenes never reached. Each analysis cell now learns its own sensor noise and flags change just above it, and the camera is asked for the longest exposures it offers, gathering several times more light per frame at no extra CPU cost. Because a detector this sensitive would otherwise wake on light alone, a change that pushes the whole scene in one direction, like a TV or monitor lighting the room differently, a lamp toggling or the camera's exposure settling, is recognized as illumination and ignored; a moving person brightens some cells and darkens others at once, and still triggers.
Improvements
- The Microphone gain slider now goes down to -24 dB to attenuate overly sensitive microphones, like the Meta Portal's. Negative gain quiets the capture before the wake word engine or Home Assistant hears it. It is applied after capture, so a mic that clips at the hardware stage stays distorted, but it fixes the common case of a mic that is loud but clean.
