What's new in Kiosk Satellite v0.31.3-beta
Microphone tuning gets eyes
- The microphone settings now include a live Microphone level meter, on the device and mirrored in the remote admin: a segmented bar with an RMS and dBFS readout that moves as the engine listens, so you can tune the microphone gain by speaking normally and watching the level land at the top of the green instead of guessing. This matters most on devices whose ROM captures audio far quieter than it should, where wake word detection works fine but there was previously no way to see what the microphone actually hears.
- Under the hood, a capture that gets stuck delivering pure silence (a wedged recorder after an audio server crash, or a ROM whose direct 16 kHz record path is broken) is now detected within 2 seconds and reopened through a path that works, instead of leaving detection silently deaf.
- Playback level updates for the reactive bar also skip near-duplicate values and stay off the remote admin feed, trimming traffic during TTS and chimes. Pairs with Voice Satellite 2026.8.1, whose reactive bar overhaul this release supports.
