Assistant Audio Now Lands on the Speaker You Chose
On some devices, Android's built-in media player quietly ignores an app's speaker selection: the wake and done chimes played from the right speaker while the voice assistant's spoken responses came out of a connected USB audio device, as reported on a Lenovo tablet paired with a ReSpeaker XVF3800 microphone array (#93).
Streamed assistant audio (TTS responses and chimes) now plays through the app's own audio pipeline, built on Android's ExoPlayer, whose output the system routes exactly where the Speaker setting points. The app also watches the route while a sound is playing and pins it back if the system tries to move it, so devices with pushy audio policies stay on the selected speaker for the whole response.
