What's new in Kiosk Satellite v0.10.0-beta
This release turns your kiosk into a photo frame: a new Immich screensaver, plus a small corner clock for every screensaver mode.
New: Immich Media screensaver
- New screensaver mode: Immich Media. Point it at your Immich server with an API key, validate the connection with one tap, and pick your whole library or a single album as the source.
- A real photo frame. Photos shaped close to the screen are enlarged to fill it edge to edge, and portrait or square photos are shown in full over a blurred, dimmed backdrop of themselves instead of black bars. All the usual slideshow controls are there: seconds per image, shuffle, and the same transitions as every other slideshow mode. Videos in the selection play too, muted and in full.
- Metadata overlay. Optionally show the photo's details in a corner of your choice: album, date taken, camera details (focal length, aperture, ISO) and location, each with its own icon, shown only when the photo actually carries them.
- Local cache. Images are cached on the device (as screen-sized previews, not full originals) so slideshow loops load instantly. You control the cache size, the oldest items are pruned automatically, and both UIs show the live cache usage.
- Everything is configurable from the device and from the remote admin alike, and the playlist refreshes from the server every time the screensaver starts.
New: Small clock for all screensavers modes
- A small corner clock for every screensaver mode (except the Digital Clock screensaver, of course). Pick the corner, the color and an optional short date. It pairs nicely with the Immich metadata overlay in the opposite corner.
- Both the clock and the metadata overlay sit on a soft vignette so they stay readable over bright photos, and both respect the pixel shift setting on OLED panels.
