What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.97
This release stops kiosks that use a non-admin Home Assistant token from flooding the Home Assistant log after the Voice Alarms update, and helps voice alarms and native Voice Satellite recover from Wi-Fi drops.
Fixes
- Non-admin tokens no longer flood the Home Assistant log. Voice Alarms listen for a custom Home Assistant event, and Home Assistant only lets administrators subscribe to those. A kiosk with a non-admin token asked again every 30 seconds, and Home Assistant logged every refusal (#761). The kiosk now checks once whether its token belongs to an administrator. If it does not, the kiosk leaves Voice Alarms off and sends Home Assistant nothing more until you change the Home Assistant address or token. Kiosks with an administrator token work as before.
- Voice alarms and native Voice Satellite reconnect after Wi-Fi drops. A Wi-Fi drop could leave the kiosk's Home Assistant connection looking open after Home Assistant had already closed it, and voice alarm requests stopped reaching the kiosk until a restart. The kiosk now pings Home Assistant every 20 seconds and reconnects when a ping goes unanswered. A kiosk that cannot reach Home Assistant also no longer logs an error every 30 seconds.
