What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.93
This release builds on Alarms with a gentler wake up and TTS alarms. It also puts the Fleet Management banner back on two remote admin pages.
Improvements
- Alarms can ease in their volume. A new Ease in the volume switch under Settings, Alarms, Defaults starts the tone quiet and raises it to the alarm volume over Ease in over, from 5 to 120 seconds. Each alarm has its own switch on its details page, which follows the default until you change it.
- Alarms can speak when they ring (#750). Turn on Speak when it rings on an alarm and Home Assistant says a phrase after every second pass of the tone, the way timers speak. The Defaults group sets the Text to speech engine, as Announcements does, and the default Phrase,
It's {time}. {label}. Each alarm can say its own phrase, with{label},{time}and{day}filled in. The tone rings from the first second either way, so if Home Assistant is slow or unreachable you only lose the words. The remote admin's alarm dialog has the same switches and phrase. - Usage analytics cover alarms and the native Voice Satellite settings. Alarms report counts only, like how many there are and how many repeat, plus the tone type and the snooze, silence and sunrise choices. The native Voice Satellite reports its choices and switches. Alarm times and labels, tone files, speaker entity ids and assistant names never leave the kiosk.
Fixes
- An alarm dialog no longer outlives the alarm screens. When the remote admin, Home Assistant, the screensaver or a ringing alarm closed the alarm list, an open Label, Phrase or Alarm tone dialog stayed on screen by itself. It now closes with them.
- The follower banner stays on the Voice Satellite and Home Assistant pages of the remote admin. On a Fleet Management follower, the "leads these settings" banner was cleared from these two pages as soon as they were built, even though Fleet lists them as synced (#752). The banner now shows on every synced page.
