What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.62
This release adds floating voice timers, camera timestamps and a plain black screen option for screensaver timeouts. It also adds fleet invitations by IP address and fixes update release notes.
New Feature: Floating voice timers
- Voice Satellite timers stay visible above the dashboard, screensaver, Now Playing and camera views. Multiple named timers appear as floating pills styled like At a Glance. Drag the group to save its position on the device. (#612)
- Tap a timer to pause or resume it and double tap to cancel. Finished timers show an alert and play the bundled Voice Satellite alert sound at the assistant volume. Tap to dismiss the alert. Requires the companion Voice Satellite timer handoff update. (#612)
New Feature: Plain black screen after the screensaver
- Enable Use a black screen instead below Turn screen off after to show a plain black screen at zero brightness when the countdown finishes. The toggle appears when the timeout is greater than zero. (#614)
- Widgets, timers, notifications and Now Playing stay hidden while the display remains powered on. Device admin permission is not required. Detection and touch follow the existing wake settings, including Wake to screensaver. (#614)
New Feature: Camera timestamps
- RTSP & ONVIF Streaming > Overlays now offers a date and time overlay with an optional black background. It follows the device date format and 12/24-hour preference. Changes apply without reconnecting viewers. (#609)
Improvements: Fleet invitations by IP address
- Add a kiosk > Add by IP lets you enter a kiosk's IP address and admin port, verify the device, choose a profile and send an invitation for acceptance on the follower. Invite again also works from saved addresses when discovery is unavailable. (#596)
- The new settings, timer controls and fleet invitation messages include English and Spanish text in the app and Remote Admin.
Bug Fixes
- Checking for updates after an earlier release was detected now refreshes the release notes opened by Install, so they match the version shown in Overview. (#607)
