What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.60
This release introduces a new localization framework with full Spanish localization for the device interface and remote administration. It also improves camera streaming setup, fleet updates and voice interaction controls.
New Feature: Localization framework and full Spanish support
- Kiosk Satellite now has a shared localization framework for community translations across the device interface and remote administration.
- This release includes full Spanish localization. Choose English or Español during setup or under Settings > Device > User Interface.

Improvements: Camera streaming supported resolution list
- Resolution and frame rate choices now reflect what each device can stream with H.264 encoding. Settings explain why some resolutions are unavailable and which become available when Motion analysis while streaming is off. Turning that setting off pauses motion detection, face detection and hand gestures while clients are connected. (#585)
- Stream Status shows the actual video size and any recovery fallback. Resolution selection fixes the Portal Go remaining at 640 × 480 despite supporting 1280 × 720. Video setting changes also keep the listening port open so viewers can reconnect. (#585)
New Feature: Return to the previous app after a voice interaction
- Return to the previous app is a new switch below Keep listening in the background. It is on by default and lets Voice Satellite return to the previous app or home screen after a voice interaction brings Kiosk Satellite forward. (#593)
- Intercom Hands free mode is now available on every device, including devices that cancel echo in hardware without reporting an Android echo canceller. Push to talk remains the default.
Improvements: Fleet updates from file now report upload progress
- Install from file now reports upload, transfer and installation progress across the fleet. Both settings interfaces show which follower is receiving the APK and its progress before installation starts. (#584)
Bug Fixes
- Fleet members remain listed when mDNS advertisements are unavailable. The kiosk switcher and intercom use saved membership alongside discovery and check unreachable members again when they return. (#596)
- Toggling Keep listening in the background updates Return to the previous app immediately in remote settings without requiring a refresh. (#593)
- Scheduled switches from Immich to the clock no longer freeze the display or leave taps without a visible response. (#592)
- Remote administration refreshes every JavaScript module after an upgrade so cached files cannot mix with the new build.
Diagnostics
- Native TTS logs now distinguish HTTP transfer completion, decoder selection, audio position advancement and end-of-stream handling. An optional
soundDiagnosticscommand captures one response and replays the same audio with default or software decoders to investigate playback timeouts. Capture stays in memory with an 8 MiB limit and can be exported or cleared. These additions help diagnose the reported timeout and do not claim to fix it. (#575, #598)
