What's New in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.40
This release reduces update downloads by choosing an APK for your device's architecture while keeping the universal download available for existing installations.
Changed
- Smaller Update Downloads: Releases now include separate ARM 32-bit, ARM 64-bit and x86_64 APKs. The updater selects a compatible build using Android's supported architectures and falls back to the universal APK when needed. A 64-bit processor running 32-bit Android receives the 32-bit APK. Addresses #502.
- Compatibility with Older Versions: The universal APK keeps its existing filename and remains the first APK asset so older updaters continue to work. Existing installations download universal for this update and can use the smaller architecture downloads for later releases. All variants share the same signing key and version code so switching between universal and architecture builds remains possible.
