What's New in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.32
This release adds microphone audio to RTSP streams, introduces microphone noise suppression and assistant volume controls, delivers a MASSIVE improvement to native Voice Satellite echo cancellation and adds dashboard filtering diagnostics.
New Feature: RTSP Microphone Audio
- Include Microphone Audio: A new toggle under Camera > RTSP Streaming adds microphone audio to the stream using the same capture as native wake detection and voice interactions. It is off by default and shares your microphone settings. Audio encoding increases CPU usage while a viewer requests audio. RTSP audio operates independently of Voice Satellite mute and Lockdown Mode and pauses while the browser owns the microphone. Stream Status shows audio activity and errors.
New Feature: Microphone Noise Suppression
- Noise Suppression: A new toggle below Automatic gain control in Screen & Audio > Microphone settings reduces background noise using Android processing. It is on by default and applies to native wake detection, voice interactions and RTSP audio. It may help or hurt wake word detection depending on the device.
New Feature: Full Assistant Volume Range
- Full Assistant Volume Range: A new toggle below Assistant volume is on by default. It initializes the built-in speaker's call volume to 100% when the native assistant audio route is acquired after startup or re-enabling the setting. Master and assistant volume still control playback. Other apps share this call volume and its previous level is not restored afterward. Later manual call-volume adjustments are preserved.
Improvements
- Massive Improvement to Native Voice Satellite Echo Cancellation: Improved playback routing helps supported devices keep chimes and TTS out of the shared microphone signal, making it easier to hear you while the assistant speaks or while music is playing on the kiosk. Silence produced by echo cancellation no longer triggers microphone recovery during playback.
- Dashboard Filtering Status on Overview: The Home Assistant status shows Watching N entities when filtering is active or Updates unfiltered when the dashboard requests all entity updates. It shows Connected when the optimization is disabled. Adds the status requested in #482.
- Dashboard Scan Diagnostics: When a dashboard component requests all entity states and disables filtering, Show scan details opens a copyable call stack in device settings and Remote Admin. The same diagnostic appears once in the Web Console log to help identify the component responsible. Adds diagnostics for #482.
