What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.9.17
Several Now Playing improvements: the favorite heart is back beside a new repeat toggle and the queue shows covers plus additional Sonos and lyrics related fixes.
New: The heart is back, with repeat opposite
- The toggles flanking the transport are three a side again: volume, the heart and shuffle on the left, repeat, lyrics and queue on the right, the way Music Assistant's own player lays them out. A source without one leaves a blank in its place so the transport stays centered.
- The heart marks the playing track as a favorite, filled while it is one: in Music Assistant's library for this device's own player and a followed Music Assistant player, and in the household's My Sonos for a Sonos followed directly, where a tap adds the playing station or track the way the Sonos app's heart does, or takes it out.
- Repeat cycles off, all and one on every source that reports it, Music Assistant's queue, a Sonos room's play mode and a Home Assistant player's repeat set, with the numbered glyph on one.
New: Album art on the queue
- Every row of the Now Playing queue carries the track's cover: the Music Assistant server's small copy for its players and this device's own, the speaker's thumbnail for a Sonos followed directly. Covers are fetched a few at a time as rows come into view, decoded at the drawn size and kept in a cache bounded by a few megabytes, so a queue of a thousand tracks flung end to end costs the device nothing it cannot spare.
- A Show album art in the queue switch on the Now Playing page, on by default, takes the covers off and lets the rows tighten back up.
Fixed
- A Sonos soundbar playing its TV input no longer holds the screensaver off with its serial as the title. A home theater or line-in input has no title, art or track, and the direct source showed it as a card named by the speaker's id. The room now reads as idle while an input plays. A Show TV and line-in switch on the Sonos page, off by default, brings the card and the view back for it, named TV or Line-in, with the volume control.
- A Sonos playing a station shows no queue and no skip buttons. The speaker keeps the queue it played before the station, and the panel listed it with next and previous on the transport though neither did anything. The panel now says nothing is queued and the skip buttons stay off, for a plain stream and for a station that reports its songs like tracks alike.
- A radio station played from Music Assistant shows its logo on its queue row. A station's queue item carries no image, in Music Assistant's own queue as much as here; the playing row now borrows the cover the stream sends.
- A broken lyric sync on LRCLIB is passed over for a sound one. LRCLIB carries uploads whose every line is stamped within a few seconds of one another, and the exact lookup handed one back first: no highlight for most of the song and then every line in a rush. A synced file is now checked against the track's length and one that fails makes way for the next copy.
