A fix for the Ambient light sensor sitting on a stale reading, which also matters for adaptive brightness.
Fixed
- The Ambient light sensor no longer sits on a stale reading after the lights change. The sensor stream forwarded at most one reading every two seconds and simply dropped the rest, and a light sensor is on-change and says nothing while the value holds, so lights going out (43, 29, 17, 8, 2 lx within a second) sent the 29 and lost the 2, and an Echo Show read 29 lx in a dark office until the sensor happened to twitch again. A reading held back by the rate limit is now sent when the window closes, unless a later one came back inside the dead band of what was sent.
- The same driver emits nothing at registration in a still room, so after a restart the app now starts from the previous session's last reading, shown as last known on the Adaptive brightness page until the sensor speaks, instead of knowing nothing. Before this, adaptive brightness could light the panel to Maximum in a dark room after a restart until the first flicker.
