What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.8.6
New Feature: Settings Search
- Both the on-device settings and the Remote Administration UI now have a search field, sitting under the Settings title on the device and under the Kiosk Satellite logo in the remote UI. Typing swaps the content for results grouped by page with the match highlighted, and tapping a result opens its page, scrolls to the setting and blinks it so it is easy to spot.
- Results cover every setting, the settings pages themselves, and the hand-built rows such as Validate connection or the permissions groups. A setting currently hidden behind a switch that is off still appears in the results, and tapping it lands on the switch that turns it on.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a black screen at startup that got stuck in a restart loop every 30 seconds on some devices (#145). On slower hardware the dashboard's browser view could be created a moment before the app's screen was ready to host it, the creation failed silently and was never retried, and the built-in recovery restarted the app straight into the same failure. The browser view now waits for the screen to be ready before it is created, and the recovery watchdog additionally rebuilds the view in place well before resorting to an app restart.
