A polish pass on the slideshow screensavers: hand-offs between photos no longer dip through black, and the Immich metadata panel now rides along smoothly instead of blinking.
Improved: No more fading through black between photos (#212)
- The next image was downloaded ahead of time, but it was only decoded once the crossfade had already started, so on slower tablets the outgoing photo faded into the black backdrop and the new one popped in late. The image is now fully decoded before the hand-off begins, holding the current photo a moment longer instead, so the transition blends directly from one photo to the next.
- Applies to the Immich Media, Photo Gallery and Local Folder screensavers, and to every transition style, since they all share the same hand-off.
Improved: Immich metadata panel no longer blinks
- The corner panel with the album, date, camera and location was torn down and rebuilt with every photo, so the vignette and text blinked off and back on at each slide change. The vignette now holds steady from photo to photo while the text fades out with the old slide and back in with the new one, overlapping naturally with the photo crossfade.
- At screensaver start the panel now fades in instead of popping.
