What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.8.106
A remote dpad or a keyboard can finally drive the kiosk, plus a fix for the settings footer links taking the Voice Satellite session down with them.
New Feature: Dpad and keyboard navigation
- A TV remote, a dpad or a keyboard's arrow keys now drive the kiosk (#377), which used to ignore them entirely, so an Android TV box or a tablet paired with a remote can reach the sidebar and the settings without a touchscreen. Left opens the menu, the arrows walk its entries, the settings pages and every dialog with the focused row lit and the page title scrolled back into view at the top, center or Enter taps the focused row, and back closes what is open.
- Any key dismisses a showing screensaver and counts as activity for the idle clock. Over the dashboard itself the arrows belong to the page, so it scrolls and keeps whatever keys it binds, the way a desktop browser walks it with Tab, and inside a text field they stay with the cursor instead of jumping away mid-edit.
- Kiosk Mode holds the same doors against a remote that it holds against the edge swipe: opening while locked earns at most the restricted quick menu, and Lockdown Mode swallows every key.
Fixed: Settings footer links no longer drop the dashboard
- The links at the settings footer now open in the link overlay above the dashboard, exactly like a link tapped on the dashboard does. They used to load straight into the kiosk view, which replaced the dashboard page and took the Voice Satellite session down with it until the next reload.
