What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.11.11
This release shows every date, day name and number in the language picked for Kiosk Satellite instead of the Android language. It also adds a 24-hour clock setting for the calendar and alarms and fixes a crash when the Sendspin player stops.
New Feature: Dates and numbers in the app's language
- Everything follows the app's language. Some parts of the app used the Android language instead of the language set under Device > User Interface > Language: the clock screensavers, Weather Mood, the calendar, alarms, photo details, wake word activations, Celestial, the date and time on camera streams and the dates in the remote admin's file list and plugin charts. A tablet with Kiosk Satellite in Spanish and Android in English showed "Saturday, November 7" on the clock screensaver. All of these now use the app's language, so the same tablet shows "sábado, 7 de noviembre".
- The Android region still counts. If Android uses the same language as the app, its region is kept. With Kiosk Satellite in English and Android set to English (United Kingdom), dates read "Saturday 7 November" and the calendar and alarms start the week on Monday. With Android set to another language, such as German, dates use the app's language with its default region.
- Week starts on follows the app's language. The Language default option under Settings > Calendar > Week starts on now uses the app's language and the Android region, as above.
Improvements
- 24-hour clock for the calendar. Settings > Calendar > 24-hour clock picks 24-hour times or AM/PM for the calendar, its dialogs and the Up next widget. These used to follow Android's clock setting. The setting starts on the clock Android uses, so nothing changes after the update.
- 24-hour clock for alarms. Settings > Alarms > 24-hour clock does the same for the alarm list, the time wheel, the ringing screen, the next alarm widget, the remote admin's alarms page and
{time}and{hour}in the spoken phrase. With it off, setting an alarm from the remote admin takes the hour from 1 to 12 with an AM or PM choice. - AM/PM in every language. With either setting off, times use AM/PM even in languages that usually write 24-hour times, such as "4:05 p. m." in Spanish.
- Talk right after the wake word (#1336). The hint now says that the setting only covers Assist pipelines, not realtime conversations, where speech right after the wake word can still be cut off while the connection opens.
Fixes
- Alarm details on a tablet in portrait. The time now sits above the details on narrower screens, so Repeat reads on one line with all seven days beside it. Before, Repeat wrapped one letter per line and the last day was cut off.
- Alarm time wheel showing the wrong hour. If the clock switched between 12 and 24 hours while the wheel was open, the hour wheel jumped to a different hour, such as 10 instead of 23.
- A rare crash when the Sendspin player stops or restarts. Stopping the player closed its server socket twice. If a file had been opened on the same number in between, it was closed too and the app crashed. This could happen when an alarm with music stopped, when the player was turned off and when its settings changed.
- Weather Mood condition icon when rain starts. If the weather changed to rain or heavy rain with the screensaver up, the conditions chip could show an empty circle or the previous rain icon until the temperature next changed.
