What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.10.37
This release sends motion events over ONVIF so NVRs such as UniFi Protect can record on motion, splits Full screen into separate switches for the status bar and navigation bar and adds an option to show the dashboard over a secured lock screen.
New Feature: ONVIF motion events
- Record on motion (#1098). With the ONVIF protocol, the new Send motion events switch under Camera > RTSP & ONVIF Streaming > Motion Events reports motion to ONVIF clients over PullPoint subscriptions, so NVRs such as UniFi Protect can record on motion.
- Pick the motion source. Motion source picks the sensor from Camera motion sensor, Person sensor and Home Assistant sensor. Person sensor is listed on devices that have one, such as the Meta Portal. Home Assistant sensor follows one of your motion, occupancy or presence sensors. A note under the picker says when the picked sensor is off and where to turn it on.
Improvements
- Hide the status bar and navigation bar separately (#1102). Full screen under Screen & Audio > Screen is now two switches, Hide status bar and Hide navigation bar, so a tablet can keep its taskbar in view while the clock and notification icons stay hidden. A hidden bar shows for a moment with a swipe from its edge. A kiosk that had Full screen off keeps both bars, and Kiosk mode and Lockdown still hide both.
- Show over lock screen (#1105). A new Show over lock screen switch under Screen & Audio > Screen shows the dashboard on top of a lock screen that has a PIN, pattern or password. When the screen comes back on after Kiosk Satellite turned it off, the dashboard shows instead of the lock screen. Home, Recents and other apps still ask for the PIN, pattern or password. It is off by default.
