What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.10.26
Now Playing can show the audio quality of the current track, plugin screensavers link straight to their settings from the Screensaver page, and tracks with a remix or live version now match their Music Assistant queue on the local player.
New Feature: Show audio quality
- Quality pills on Now Playing. A new Show audio quality switch under Now Playing > User Interface, off by default, adds a row of pills along the bottom edge of the Now Playing view. They show the current track's quality as Hi-Res, CD quality or Lossy, followed by the codec, bit depth, sample rate, bitrate and the Music Assistant provider it streams from, such as Qobuz, Tidal or Spotify.
- What the tiers mean. Hi-Res marks lossless audio above 16 bits or 48 kHz. CD quality marks lossless audio at 16 bits and 44.1 or 48 kHz.
- Where it works. The pills show in every layout and alongside a screensaver. They work for this device's own player and any player followed through Music Assistant, and need the server address and token on the Music Assistant page. Sonos speakers followed directly and Home Assistant media players do not report this, so no pills show for them.
Improvements
- Plugin screensaver settings from the Screensaver page. With a plugin screensaver picked as the Screensaver mode, the Screensaver page shows that plugin above Widgets, where the built-in screensavers link to their own pages. Tapping it opens the plugin's page in Plugin Manager with its settings. The row stays hidden while Enable Plugins is off.
Fixes
- Tracks with a version on the local player. Music Assistant keeps a remix, live or remastered version apart from the track name, while the Sendspin stream joins them, as in "Red (Document One Remix)". The local player never matched such a track to its Music Assistant queue, so audiobook chapters, the hidden progress bar for radio stations and position corrections from Music Assistant did not apply to it. The queue's title now includes the version, which also shows the full title for a followed Music Assistant player.
