What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.10.19
This release adds a Jarvis skin to Voice Satellite, a Home Assistant switch for scheduled screensavers and multi-file uploads in the File Manager. It also loads Music Assistant covers on kiosks without internet access and fixes the Clock background beside Now Playing.
New Feature: Jarvis skin
- A holographic HUD reactor. The new Jarvis skin draws a reactor in the style of Iron Man's assistant. Its rings turn around an octagonal core while listening, and a scanner sweeps it while thinking.
- Moves with your voice. With Reactive bar on, a ring of circuit-textured flaps pushes out with your voice and the answer, and the flaps soften as they stretch.
- Built around the conversation. Full screen, the reactor sits at the top and the conversation runs under it, sized to leave room for a few lines of answer at your text size, even on small screens. With every Conversation toggle off, the reactor fills the screen on its own.
- Docked too. In docked mode the reactor floats above the bubble with your command, tool calls and answer. It stays put as the bubble grows, and its outer ring unwinds as the conversation ends.
Improvements
- Scheduled screensavers have an ESPHome switch. A new Screensaver schedule switch turns scheduled screensavers on or off from Home Assistant, so an automation can pause the schedule for a party or a vacation and bring it back after.
- Music Assistant covers load through Music Assistant. Now Playing, the floating card, the queue panel and a paused track restored from Music Assistant loaded a streaming service's cover straight from the service, so a kiosk that reaches Music Assistant but not the internet showed no cover. Covers now come through Music Assistant's image proxy whenever it offers one. Queue thumbnails also ask for a size Music Assistant 2.10 accepts, so a library track's thumbnail no longer fails to load.
- The File Manager uploads several files at once. The remote admin's File Manager took one file per upload, so adding a folder of screensaver photos meant one pick per photo. Upload file now takes any number of files, sends them one after another into the open folder and shows how far along it is. One message at the end confirms the count or names the files that failed.
Fixes
- The Clock background follows Fill the screen beside Now Playing. With Show alongside screensaver on, the Clock screensaver's background photo ignored Now Playing's Fill the screen and kept Smart framing, so a photo shaped unlike the clock's pane sat over blurred bands even with Always. It now follows Fill the screen like the photo screensavers do: Always fills the pane edge to edge and Off shows the whole photo without the blurred backdrop. On its own the clock keeps its current framing.
- A kiosk joins fleet lists once it can accept an invite. A kiosk still on the welcome screen already showed up in the fleet leader's list, but the invite prompt only appears after onboarding, so an invite sent to it went nowhere. A kiosk now stays out of fleet lists until onboarding is done and appears as soon as it finishes.
