What's new in Kiosk Satellite 2026.10.10
This release adds a gesture that ends intercom calls and makes Weather Mood and wake word listening lighter on the CPU. It also keeps Weather Mood moving when Android animations are off and stops Bluetooth proxy scans from piling up after app updates.
Improvements
- End the intercom call gesture. Gestures gains an End the intercom call action, so claps or a hand showing fingers can end a call from across the room (#863). It ends what the hang up button ends: a call being placed, a live call and either end of an announcement. A ringing call still needs Answer or Decline on the screen. Gestures stay armed during a call. Translated into Spanish, German, French, Ukrainian, Dutch and Simplified Chinese.
- Weather Mood uses less CPU. The screensaver now reuses stable star geometry, rain-on-glass drop shapes, sunlight mote paths, shader paints and uniform storage instead of rebuilding them on every frame. The weather animation, density and visual detail stay the same.
- Wake word listening does less idle work. vsWakeWord reuses each model's decoded output for its cross-window matcher. All three engines now track near misses only when diagnostics are enabled. Detection scores are unchanged.
Fixes
- Weather Mood keeps moving when Android animations are off. Weather Mood no longer treats Android's transition animation scale as a request to freeze its clouds, rain, snow and stars (#864). It still pauses when the display turns off or the app goes into the background.
- Bluetooth proxy scans no longer pile up after app updates. Kiosk Satellite now closes its BLE scanner before Shizuku, the ADB update helper or Android's package installer commits an update. Installs that need Android's confirmation close it before the confirmation screen shows. If an install fails or is declined, the scan picks up where it left off. A successful update now starts with one clean scanner instead of leaving the old app process registered in the Bluetooth stack. This showed up on Meta Portal firmware, which kept every scanner from a replaced app process.
