Batman: Arkham City in PC VR. What's new since 0.1.3 - fixes for problems players reported (thank you):
- SteamVR and other headsets: if your PC VR software has no 32-bit OpenXR runtime (Arkham City is a 32-bit game - Pimax's own runtime is one example), the mod now switches to SteamVR's 32-bit runtime by itself instead of starting flat. Both this and the Batman City VR (SteamVR) shortcut now use the SteamVR install SteamVR itself marks as active, so SteamVR on another drive is found.
- "Doesn't go into VR" with the SteamVR shortcut: the log (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Batman_City\batman_city.log) now says which VR runtime was chosen, and warns if the game runs as administrator - Windows then ignores the shortcut's choice. Turn "Run as administrator" off for Steam and the game. - VR menu with a mouse: the cursor now sits on the item it points at, stays where you leave it and shows once; moving the mouse no longer turns the camera behind the menu.
- Tab screen (map / upgrades): no longer stays black for several seconds when it opens.
- V-sync: the installer now turns it off, and the mod keeps it off while VR runs (no need to change it by hand).
- VR menu: clearer names for several settings.
Download size: about 290 MB, mostly the AI-upscaled loading-screen pictures (about 225 MB) and NVIDIA's DLSS library (about 60 MB).
Install: start the game once from Steam (to the main menu), unpack BatmanCityVR-ArkhamCity.zip, run Install-BatmanCityVR.bat, then start the game with the Batman City VR shortcut (or Batman City VR (SteamVR) for SteamVR). Updating from 0.1.x: run the new installer over it; your VR settings are kept. Details and troubleshooting: README.
Tested with a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop, RTX 4070 Ti.
