Batman: Arkham Asylum (Game of the Year Edition) in PC VR: native stereo (the game draws both eyes every frame), per-eye DLSS, and OpenXR for Virtual Desktop and SteamVR.
Install: start the game once from Steam and quit, unpack BatmanAsylumVR-ArkhamAsylum.zip, run Install-BatmanAsylumVR.bat, then start Batman Asylum VR from the desktop. Full steps in the README.
- Native stereo 3D with full head tracking on the game's third-person camera
- DLSS for each eye (NVIDIA RTX)
- HUD on a panel in front of you; menus and loading screens on a screen in the room
- Grapple prompts sit on their grapple points; a pointer at the edge of your view shows grapple points you are not looking at
- Detective mode details point at the people they belong to
- In-headset VR menu (hold both thumbsticks, or F10); settings are saved
- Each VR start sets the game up for VR and puts your own graphics settings back when the game closes; starting from Steam plays the normal game
Known issues: spent shotgun shells on the floor show at the wrong depth; some menu changes can briefly show a black window; AFW is experimental.
Tested with Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop on an RTX 4070 Ti. The SteamVR launcher is included but has not been tested with this game yet. Needs the Steam Game of the Year Edition.
Credits: built on bioshock-vr (MIT), MinHook, Dear ImGui and the OpenXR SDK; per-eye DLSS method from the Luma Framework's Arkham Knight mod; DLSS and NVAPI are NVIDIA's. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md. Unofficial fan mod; needs your own copy of the game.
