Grade map (beta, feedback welcome):
- While navigating, the route line on the map is colored by grade, in the same colors as the elevation profile, so climbs and descents show without leaving the map
- Chevrons along the line point the way. They can bunch on the steepest road, where the grade changes, or sit in between
- Road already ridden loses its chevrons, and on out-and-backs and laps the road ahead is drawn on top
- Off route, the Karoo's path back is drawn in red until you rejoin
- Turn it on in the new Grade Map card under Climbing, which also sets which grades are colored
New data fields:
- Distance, Distance Remaining, Ascent Remaining and Descent Remaining, also available as HUD slots
- Ride Remaining: the distance and climbing left, stacked in one field
- Overview: the whole route's elevation profile, with a dot for where you are
Palettes and colors:
- New Barberfish palette for grade, power and HR zones: Karoo's climb colors in even steps, a muted flat band, and blue descents
- Emphasis, which picks the grades that get color, is set by dragging handles on the palette bar, separately for climbs and descents. The handles snap to the palette's bands, and the profile and map color exactly what the bar shows
Fields:
- The elevation sparkline field is now called Profile
- Fields can follow Karoo's Data Icons and Label Size settings, set once in the new Data Field Design section
- Grade shows a whole number or one decimal, with or without the % sign, on the field and in the HUD
- Profile and Overview can hide their header, giving the elevation line the whole cell
- Fields say why data is missing, like the native ones: No sensor, No route, Off route
- A HUD column whose sensor isn't paired is dropped, and the others share its width
Config screen:
- Previews play one simulated ride, so related fields show values that belong together
- The Global section is split into Palettes and Time
New defaults (saved settings are kept):
- Speed starts unsmoothed instead of at 3s
- Power Zone and HR Zone start with one decimal
Fixes:
- Global POIs now show on the elevation profile, not only the route's own. Thanks to Theolean for the report.
- Profile no longer goes blank when the HUD sparkline is set to Climbs or Off. Thanks to Jamie Bishop for the report.
- Climb highlights on the profile hold steady as you enter a climb and while off route. Thanks to timklge's karoo-routegraph for the inspiration.
- Off route, the profile holds your last on-route position instead of jumping back to the start
- On a route ridden in reverse, POIs show where you meet them, not mirrored to the far end
- The elevation profile no longer leaves black gaps: short colored stretches toward the far end, and flat road at exactly 0% with Emphasis off, are now filled
- In Fill mode, Grade keeps its color while it holds its last value, and the greyed value is readable in light mode
- A min or max range with only one end set is no longer invisible in Text mode on light theme
- Smaller touch-ups: time field icons turn green when the ride starts, threshold text colors adjust to the theme, the position dot stays inside the field at the route ends, POI dots are solid, placeholder text sits at the native height, green icons use Karoo's darker shade in light mode
