KisakCOD VR v0.10.0-beta.8

Beta.8 is a major visual-HUD, calibration, controller-input, and configurator
update over beta.7. This is a complete standalone package; no earlier beta is
required.

Highlights

  • Genuinely visual HUD editing on a draggable desktop canvas and live inside
the headset for ammo/equipment, compass/objectives, notifications, objective
    banners, and subtitles.
  • Guided forward/level recentering, automatic standing-height measurement,
seated calibration, and safe one-inch height adjustments.
  • Controller Input V4 with primary and alternate bindings, directional
stick/trackpad inputs, cross-controller chords, and live press-to-bind capture.
  • Broader OpenXR mappings for Meta Touch, PICO, Valve Index, HTC Vive/Cosmos/
Focus, Windows Mixed Reality, HP, Samsung, and generic profiles.
  • Tracked-controller input and haptics through the experimental 32-bit
    SteamVR/OpenVR compatibility backend.

Fixes

  • Settings are not reported as saved until the exact bytes and all 125 values
read back correctly; launcher and runtime receipts prove which revision was
    applied.
  • Weapon forward/left/up offsets now survive final grip-tag alignment and move
    the rendered weapon correctly.
  • The intended defaults are restored: right-stick/trackpad up jumps or raises
stance, right-stick/trackpad down lowers stance, and left trigger is the
    alternate Jump binding.
  • The four right-thumbrest mission shortcut chords remain visible, while the
redundant right-grip action is unbound by default.
  • The normal FPS counter and red performance-warning marker stay off unless
    explicitly enabled for diagnostics.
  • Windows CI now runs on the repository's main branch and validates the game,
configurator, input mapper, and complete 125-setting suite.

Installation

  1. Install and launch the original 2007 Call of Duty 4 once.
  2. In Steam, use Manage -> Browse local files.
  3. Extract every file from KisakCOD-VR-v0.10.0-beta.8.zip beside iw3sp.exe.
  4. Start the intended VR runtime.
  5. Run KisakCOD-VR-Configurator.exe, choose a preset or Custom, and click
    Save & Launch.

Existing configurator profiles are stored under LocalAppData and survive the
upgrade. Save once in beta.8 to migrate any missing calibration or visual-HUD
fields to their tested defaults.

Tested setup and limitations

  • Primary tested setup: Meta Quest 3, Virtual Desktop VDXR, RTX 3080 Ti.
  • Other OpenXR controller profiles and the SteamVR/OpenVR backend remain
experimental until tested on their native hardware.
  • Meta Quest Link's 32-bit OpenXR runtime can terminate during session creation;
VDXR is recommended for Quest headsets.
  • Death From Above remains unsupported and must be skipped. Use /spmap bog_b
to load War Pig, the next mission.

The attached .sha256 sidecar verifies the release archive. This is unsigned
native mod software: do not disable Microsoft Defender globally. If Defender
reports a detection, do not bypass it; report the exact detection name and file
on GitHub.
