KisakCOD VR v0.10.0-beta.4 is a launcher-compatibility and crash-report privacy hotfix over v0.10.0-beta.3. The game executable and VR gameplay code are unchanged.
Fixes
- Fixed the launcher exiting before the game started when COD4 was installed in a path containing parentheses, including Steam's default
C:\Program Files (x86)\...path. - Restored the packaged high-resolution VR settings and diagnostics for affected installations. Do not start
KisakCOD-sp.exedirectly; useLaunch-KisakCOD-VR.bat. - Updated the crash-report instructions to clarify that ZIPs containing minidumps must be sent privately and never posted publicly.
Installation
- Install and launch the original 2007 Windows release of Call of Duty 4 once.
- Extract the beta.4 ZIP into the folder containing
iw3sp.exe. - Allow it to replace the previous mod files.
- Start the desired OpenXR runtime.
- Run
Launch-KisakCOD-VR.bat.
The default Steam installation under C:\Program Files (x86) is now supported. The C:\Games workaround is no longer required.
Requirements and compatibility
- A legitimate Windows copy of the original 2007 Call of Duty 4.
- A working 32-bit OpenXR runtime.
- Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop OpenXR remains the primary tested setup.
- The experimental OpenVR/SteamVR backend still has no motion-controller input.
Known limitation
Death From Above remains unsupported. Open the console and run /spmap bog_b to continue with War Pig.
