Beta.17 is a focused rendering hotfix over v0.10.0-beta.16.
What changed
- Cyan/green/blue world corruption (#78): fixes the continuous world-color corruption that could appear when COD4's Float-Z depth clear ran in packed stereo, including the reported transition into two-hand grip or ADS.
- The full-scene depth quad now uses viewport-local coordinates after the D3D eye viewport is installed. The right eye no longer applies its packed render-target origin twice.
- Desktop/non-VR coordinates and the rest of beta.16's VR fixes are unchanged.
Validation
- A focused Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop / VDXR headset test passed with
r_zFeather 1and repeated one-hand, two-hand, and ADS transitions. No cyan/blue corruption appeared. - The OpenXR Simulator check passed before the physical-headset test.
- All six Win32 Release targets built successfully from commit
dce630d6d1aa3b7ebb52f32b9814cf6b7e7a1149. - All 142 Configurator/settings tests and all seven guarded-installer tests passed, including dedicated packed-stereo Float-Z and non-VR regression checks.
- The portable ZIP passed its CRC and all 32 internal SHA-256 checks. Its packaged executables match the tested Release binaries.
Still awaiting confirmation
- The fix passed Quest 3 / VDXR validation, but confirmation on the original reporter's Quest 3S / VDXR / RTX 4060 configuration is still welcome on issue #78.
- Other unresolved or reporter-pending items from beta.16 are unchanged; see KNOWN-ISSUES.md.
- Death From Above is not supported in VR and must be skipped; War Pig is the next playable mission.
Install
This project requires Windows 10/11, a PC VR headset with motion controllers, an active OpenXR runtime or SteamVR for the compatibility backend, and a legitimate installation of the original 2007 Windows release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The remastered game is not a substitute. No game assets are included.
The Windows Setup executable is recommended. The portable ZIP is provided for manual installation. The installer is currently unsigned, so verify it using the accompanying SHA-256 file if Windows displays a warning.
