KisakCOD VR v0.10.0-beta.12 — OpenVR Compatibility and Night-Vision Visor Gesture
KisakCOD VR beta.12 repairs the tested Quest 3 SteamVR/OpenVR path, adds a
physical night-vision visor gesture shared by OpenXR and OpenVR, and changes
the fresh-profile grenade-launcher shortcut to the physical right grip. This
is a complete standalone mod package; no earlier beta is required. A legitimate
installation of the original 2007 Call of Duty 4 is still required, and no
original game data is included.
SteamVR/OpenVR compatibility
- Corrects direct OpenVR gameplay projection and preserves COD4's
display-referred color through the SteamVR-compatible submission path. - Restores compositor frame delivery without the linear-color rejection seen
in the private test sequence. - Resolves semantic grip and aim components from SteamVR render models instead
of treating every driver's controller origin as a portable weapon pose. - Guards legacy right-thumbrest mission chords behind neutral entry: both
sticks start centered, right-stick movement cancels the selector, and custom
non-matching bindings are not rewritten. - Geometry, brightness, compositor delivery, weapon angle, movement, turning,
and mission controls were verified on Meta Quest 3 through SteamVR/OpenVR.
Physical night-vision visor gesture
- To lower the visor, reach the physical left controller to the crown, press
and hold left grip, pull down in front of the eyes, and release. - To raise the visor, reach close to the visor in front of the face, press and
hold left grip, pull up to the crown, and release. - A completed motion toggles night vision once on release. It requires at least
12 cm of vertical travel and cancels safely on a menu, tracking loss, an
invalid travel path, or an overlong hold. - A grip press that begins on a rifle foregrip remains ordinary support-hand
input; moving that already-held hand toward the face cannot arm the gesture. - The configured Night vision button/chord remains available as a fallback.
Controller default
- Fresh/default profiles now bind Grenade launcher / weapon slot 5 to physical
Right grip / squeeze. - Existing LocalAppData profiles and Controller Input V4 bindings are preserved
exactly. To adopt Right grip on an existing profile, select it once on the
configurator's Controls page; the update does not overwrite custom controls.
Validation
- All 142 settings and compatibility/configurator checks pass, including new
regression coverage for the right-grip default and existing-profile
preservation. - The OpenVR selector, shared visor state machine, foregrip isolation, OpenVR
projection/color submission, semantic poses, and prior beta.11 behavior are
covered by focused regression contracts. - The publisher builds the game, configurator, input mapper, and tests from the
exact beta.11 base plus this tested delta; audits the standalone package;
scans it with Microsoft Defender; and verifies the uploaded assets again.
Installation
- Download
KisakCOD-VR-v0.10.0-beta.12.zip. - Extract every file beside the original 2007 COD4
iw3sp.exe, replacing the
previous mod files when prompted. - Run
KisakCOD-VR-Configurator.exe. - On Setup & Compatibility, rescan and resolve every Blocked item.
- Review the recommendation, choose your remaining settings, and click
Save & Launch.
Personal settings, saves, weapon profiles, and gunstock profiles remain under
LocalAppData and survive package updates.
Known limitations
- Death From Above remains unsupported even though it appears in Mission
Select. Open the console and run/spmap bog_bto continue with War Pig. - Meta Quest Link's 32-bit OpenXR path can still fail inside
xrCreateSession;
Virtual Desktop VDXR remains the primary tested Quest route. - PSVR2, Index, Vive, Pimax, and other native OpenVR hardware still require
hardware-specific confirmation even though the repaired path is verified on
Quest 3 through SteamVR. - The HUD coordinate/alignment report remains tracked in issue #22, and Pimax
high-resolution scope capture remains tracked in issue #41.
