Looking for Android testers!
Google Play requires 12 testers to opt in and actually use the app for 14 days before a new app can be published. If you'd like to help NESd get onto the Play Store, sign up in Discussions.

Added

  • Built in graphics filters: CRT and smooth
  • Display tool: adjust filter, scaling, aspect ratio and border while the game is running
  • Support for mapper 45 (GA23C), used by MMC3-based multicart cartridges
  • Fuzzy matching in the file picker search bar, with the best matches listed first
  • A log viewer (Settings → Debug → View log) with per-line context, copy and file export, plus a rolling log file

Changed

  • Nightly Linux builds are now a separate dev flavor. Existing nightly Flatpak installs are migrated automatically
  • Debug tools are now opened from the in-game menu under "Tools" instead of the Debug settings tab, and can be bound to keys or gamepad buttons. Panels you had open are carried over
  • The execution log now shares the debug tool column instead of taking a column of its own
  • Gamepad input now uses the upstream gamepads plugin with normalized button and axis names on all platforms. Saved gamepad bindings are translated automatically where possible
  • Upgraded to Flutter 3.47 and Dart 3.13. The minimum supported macOS version is now 12.0 (Monterey)

Fixed

  • Fixed control binders on touch screens deactivating right after being tapped, making it impossible to assign a binding by touch
  • Fixed the ROM grid on the main menu and the save state screen overflowing on phones and narrow windows
  • Fixed opening a debug tool in a narrow window squeezing the game display down to nothing
  • Fixed the debug tools overlapping each other when several are open at once
  • Fixed the arm64 deb and flatpak missing from release pages because the x64 files overwrote them
  • Fixed rewind on macOS being unavailable on Intel Macs and on macOS older than 26.4, because the bundled LZ4 library was built only for Apple Silicon. It is now a universal binary that runs on macOS 12.0 and later
  • Fixed GPU rendering on macOS silently falling back to the CPU renderer
  • Fixed rewinding showing black frames and flickering
  • Fixed graphics corrupting in battery-backed games when a save state was loaded by starting the game from the main menu
  • Fixed ROM thumbnails staying black on Android
